The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday took a sharp dig at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and called him “Bhagoda no. 1″ after he skipped the 7th Enforcement Directorate summons for questioning in the excise policy case.

The probe agency had last week issued the seventh summons to Kejriwal and asked him to appear for questioning on February 26. However, the Delhi CM skipped the summons and his party said that the ED should wait for a court order.

Reacting to the Delhi CM’s decision, BJP’s national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said, ” Arvind Kejriwal should be given a prize for being ‘bhagoda No. 1’…those who were with Anna Hazare used to say, ‘first resignation, then probe’. today they will neither give their resignation nor they participate in the probe because now they are friends and allies of Lalu Prasad Yadav.”

Responding to the AAP’s accusations of vendetta politics, the BJP leader asked if that is the case then why the court has not given him any relief.

“They say that this is vendetta politics, and vindictiveness by the ED but then why the Court has not given them any relief?…even their new ally Congress has done a press conference saying Kejriwal is corrupt and he has to give answers on the liquor policy scam…,” he added.

The AAP, however, said that the Delhi court will hear the matter of the validity of ED summons on March 16 and the agency should wait for its order instead of sending summonses daily.

The probe agency had earlier moved to Delhi’s Rouse Avenue court against Kejriwal for not complying with the summons.

Earlier on February 17, the Delhi CM had appeared before the court via video conferencing and the matter was adjourned till March 16 after Kejriwal expressed his unavailability due to the assembly session.
