The BJP on Saturday announced its list of candidates for biennial election to the Rajya Sabha from Jharkhand and biennial election to the Vidhan Parishad (MLC) from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.
The party announced Dr Pradeep Verma from Jharkhand as its candidate for the Rajya Sabha biennial elections.
After being nominated from Jharkhand, Dr Verma, the state General Secretary, expressed gratitude towards the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The nominations for the biennial elections to two Rajya Sabha seats from the state will be held on March 11, and the elections are set to be held on March 21. The counting of votes will be done on the same day.
The BJP has also announced its candidates for three MLC seats in Bihar, which include Mangal Pandey, Dr Lal Mohan Gupta and Anamika Singh.
In Uttar Pradesh, the party has fielded seven candidates — Vijay Bahadur Pathak, Dr Mahendra Kumar Singh, Ashok Katariya, Mohit Beniwal, Dharmendra Singh, Ramtirath Singhal, and Santosh Singh for the MLC election.
The MLC election in Bihar and UP is scheduled for March 21, and the last date for filing the nomination is March 11.
