A red alert was sounded in the state on Friday after the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted heavy to extremely heavy rainfall over the next three days in 14 of the state’s 38 districts.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi expressed his condolences to the families of those who lost lives in rain-related accidents in the state. He also urged his party workers in the state to join the relief and rescue work.
Meanwhile, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has called a meeting with the officials of flood-affected districts later today. The meeting will be held via video conferencing.
