Sharda Sinha’s last rites: Nitish Kumar announces state honours
Bihar's beloved folk singer Sharda Sinha will be laid to rest with state honours, as announced by CM Nitish Kumar, following her passing on November 5.
Yadav made the remarks during an emergency meeting of RJD leaders and lawmakers held at Lalu Yadav’s residence in Patna.
As speculations of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar joining the BJP-led NDA, his deputy and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has reportedly told party leaders that the game is yet to begin.
Yadav, according to sources, made the remarks during an emergency meeting of RJD leaders convened at Lalu Yadav’s residence in Patna.
“The Chief Minister used to sit with me on the stage and ask, “What was there in Bihar before 2005?” I never reacted… Now, more people are with us. Whatever remained undone in two decades, we managed to get it done within a short time- be it jobs, caste census, increasing reservation, etc. ‘Bihar mein abhi khel hona baki hain’ (The game is yet to begin in Bihar),” Yadav reportedly said.

The deputy chief minister, according to news agency ANI, also told the RJD leaders and lawmakers that Nitish Kumar was and continues to remain “respectable”
“CM Nitish Kumar was and is respectable. Many things are not under his (Nitish Kumar) control. RJD’s allies in the ‘Mahagathbandhan’ always respected the Chief Minister…” Tejashwi Yadav was quoted as saying by the sources.
Meanwhile, Misa Bharati, the daughter of Lalu Yadav, said that she has no idea other than what is being circulated in the media.
“I have no idea right now..whatever is going on in News that is only thing, other than that nobody has said anything…whenever RJD comes to power, we have worked for the people of Bihar and we will keep working for them in the future also,” she said.
Speculations are rife that Nitish Kumar is in advance stage of talks with the BJP and may announce his big move on Sunday.
According to sources, the Bihar CM is likely to tender his resignation and then stake claim to form a fresh government with the help of the BJP.
The political corridors in Patna are also abuzz with rumours that soon after forming his new government, Kumar may dissolve the Bihar legislative assembly and seek fresh mandate.
