Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi attacked the BJP over Ram temple consecration ceremony just after entering Utter Pradesh through his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra from Bihar on Friday late afternoon.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, younger sister of the leader, who was slated to join the Yatra in UP, gave a miss, after she fell ill and was admitted to the hospital in Delhi.

Rahul Gandhi ,while addressing a public meeting at National Inter College ,charged that carpet was laid for the billionaires in the consecration ceremony of Ram temple but nothing for the poor.

“When all millionaires were present in the consecration cerrmony, why we have not seen our Aadiwasi President, farmers, labourers and poor. But, red carpet was laid for Ambani, Adani, Amitabh Bachchan and others,” he said.

The Congress leader further attacked the Narendra Modi government alleging that BJP’s ideology only promises the Billionaires of farmers land and people’s hard earned money. But on the other hand our ideology is to give the people their right.

Castigating the BJP to propogate the big people, he said,” Aishwarya Rai and Abhitabh Bachchan dancing will be seen on TV…not a problem for any poor person. Asked the public whether any poor or laborer was seen at the Ram Mandir event… Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Adani and Ambani were seen.”

Gandhi said that as soon as he reached the border, he came to know that he has come to UP. He said that ,”we do not give speeches, we meet you for 7-8 hours, listen to your sorrows and pains and then finally speak for 15 minutes.”

Rahul Gandhi also reached the Martyr Memorial located just 400 meters away from the public meeting venue. He also reached the public meeting stage in an open car.

Gandhi entered Chandauli district from Naubatpur border of Bihar-UP. Congress leaders and workers gave a grand welcome to Rahul.

During this, Bihar Congress Committee President Akhilesh Singh handed over the Congress flag to UP Congress President Ajay Rai.

Meanwhile, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who was slated to join her brother in the Yatra in UP , fell ill and was admitted to the hospital.

Informing this on the social media on Friday morning, she wrote: “I was really looking forward to join the Yatra in UP today but unfortunately, have ended up admitted to hospital. I will be there as soon as I am better! meanwhile wishing all the yatris, my colleagues in UP who have worked hard towards making arrangements for the yatra and my sweet brother, all success as they reach Chandauli today.”

In Chandauli, Rahul Gandhi will rest for the night in Prime Minister Modi’s model village Domari. For this, a tent has been set up in the military ground near Avadhoot Lord Ram Samadhi site.

Tomorrow, the Yatra will reach PM’s constituency Varanasi and Rahul Gandhi will address a public meeting in Godholia crossing.

Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra will reach Rae Bareli on February 20 where Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav will join the yatra.

On the other hand Congress has changed the route in a surprise move ,with passing through minority belt of Moradabad, Bareilly, Amroha and Badaun and entering Rajasthan from Agra.

Earlier the route was to enter Madhya Pradesh after crossing Bundelkhand districts. But the authorities were yet to give permission for the new route.
