Suhani was at the royal wedding to represent her Myna Mahila Foundation that empowers women to speak about issues they are most afraid of. The foundation employ women from urban slums in Mumbai to manufacture and sell affordable sanitary pads back into their communities, improving menstrual hygiene, providing stable employment, and building a trusted network.
Meghan visited Mumbai as a global ambassador for World Vision Canada. She was there to raise awareness about women’s health and hygiene, when she visited Myna Mahila foundation.
The 23-year-old Suhani met Meghan back in 2016 when she went to give an acceptance speech at the Glamour College Women of the Year Awards. Talking about her meeting with the royal bride, she said,”Meghan was intrigued by our work and had said, then, that she wanted to make a trip to India as this was an area she wanted to lend her support to. After she visited us in January last year, she said she wanted to position the organisation well so as to maximise the impact, and she’s been a great guide,” India today quotes Suhani.
