Sharing the picture on Twitter, he wrote, “image of @FarOutAkhtar is portrayed as Milkha Singh in West Bengal text book. not at all shocked. its became regular incident here. (sic)”

Farhan Akhtar, who has portrayed the challenging role of the track athlete in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s directed film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, was quick to respond to the tweet and he requested West Bengal education minister Partha Chatterjee to look into the matter.
“To the Minister of School Education, West Bengal. There is a glaring error with the image used in one of the school text books to depict Milkha Singh-ji. Could you please rer tweeted and tagged Trinamool Congress MP Derek O’Brien, who responded saying that he was “on it”.

Milkha Singh, one of the most successful Indian athletes, had scripted history when he took to the track at the 1958 Commonwealth Games.
His biopic featuring Farkhan Akhtar had hit the theatres in 2003.
