Turnbull, who is on his first visit to India, will be accorded a ceremonial welcome at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday.
Later he will hold delegation-level talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, followed by signing of agreements between the countries in areas like security, environment, sports, science and technology and health.
However, a Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA) will not be signed during this visit. But India is likely to raise during the talks the issue of security of Indians in Australia in the wake of recent attacks on some of them.
On Tuesday, Turnbull will visit Mumbai where he will attend several events, including an interaction with key business leaders and an energy round-table.
