Vajpayee remembered on his death anniversary; Prez, PM pay rich tributes
President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid floral tributes to the veteran BJP leader at his memorial Sadaiv Atal here.
A statement issued by the Delhi Traffic Police said there would be elaborate traffic arrangements to facilitate the movement of commuters and to ensure safe and smooth flow of traffic.
Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who passed away on Thursday after a prolonged illness, will be cremated at Smriti Sthal at 4 pm on Friday.
BJP president Amit Shah said the funeral procession will begin at 1 pm from the BJP headquarters at 1 pm.
“Around 9 am, his mortal remains will be brought to BJP headquarters at 6-A Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Marg. His funeral procession will begin at 1 pm and the last rites will be performed at 4 pm at Smriti Sthal,” Shah said on Thursday night.

In view of the funeral procession, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued advisory for commuters.
