Sarma accuses Cong of inciting violence in Guwahati
Speaking to the media, he alleged that prominent Congress figures like Bhupen Borah and Ripun Bora are engaged in a "competition to outshine each other" through actions that risk public safety.
Leaders of the banned militant outfit, who have been arrested, had made the allegation against Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday denied the allegation made by the ULFA (I) leaders that the Assam Police had sent a spy to the banned outfit’s camp in Myanmar.
In a video shared on YouTube, the leaders of the banned militant outfit, who have been arrested for ‘breaching’ the organisation’s constitution, can be seen making the allegation against the chief minister.

The state police have also denied sending any spy to the camp of the insurgent group United Liberation Front of Asom–Independent (ULFA-I) camp in Myanmar.
After his arrest, Mukut Axom confessed that the Assam state authorities sent him to spy on ULFA-I via a video message. He also disclosed his association with the Special Branch of Assam Police since 2021 and his involvement in a mission to monitor ULFA-I’s activities.
