A joint Security conference was held by Indian Army with the civil administration, J&K Police and Intelligence agencies of the districts of Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban at Dharmund Military Garrison in District Ramban.
A defence spokesman said on Friday that the conference was presided over by General officer Commanding (GOC), CIF (Delta) and was attended by DIG DKR Range, Deputy Commissioners and SSPs of the three districts, Deputy Commissioner (SB) Jammu Zone and other Intelligence agencies, CRPF officials and Army officers of the region.
The issues highlighted and deliberated in the conference included overall internal security situation, formulate measures for incident free Republic Day celebrations, mutual sharing of intelligence inputs in the area.
This interaction provided an opportunity to conceptualise and evolve action plan for ensuring incident free area and to deny any opportunity to anti-national elements to disturb peace of Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban Districts, as happened in Rajouri.
The civil administration was appreciative of the role played by Indian Army in helping them to develop capacities in specialised areas. All agencies acknowledged the need for working together towards the well-being of people, ensuring peace, establishing security and creating a conducive environment for overall progress of the region.
