Army jawan kills wife over infidelity

An army man killed his wife in the presence of his two children from his licensed revolver followed an argument. Suspicion of illicit relations of wife is said to be the reason behind this murder.

Police have arrested accused Fauji Nayak Surendra Pal Singh from his residence after the complaint by the deceased’s brother.

“Weapon used in the crime, the  licensed revolver of Surendra Singh has been recovered and the investigation is on,” said SP city Maan Singh Chauhan, adding that police have recorded the statements of his two children who are eyewitnesses.

” It seems that the husband was suspicious of wife’s illicit relations ,” the SP stated.

Nayak Surendra Pal Singh is posted at 159 field unit regiment in Meerut. His wife Savita(35) used to live in Nandini kunj colony near Mailyana police chowki at Baghpat road with two children.  On Wednesday night Surendra had come on a ten days leave to stay with his family.

But shortly after his arrival at about 10 p.m. altercation ensued between the duo which took a serious turn and in a fit of rage Surendra shot wife Savita who died on the spot. The children were present there at the time of the crime.

Surendra than called Ratan, brother of Savita and told him that his nephew is sick but he heard children screaming that their mother has been killed during phone call.

Ratan immediately rushed along with his friend to Nandini Kunj.

When he reached there Ratan was shocked to see his sister lying dead in a pool of blood while the children were crying.

Surendra was sitting in the other room. Ratan locked him inside and called the police.

Station Officer of TP Nagar police station Brijesh Singh reached there and arrested Surendra. The body has been sent for postmortem.
