Six heavily armed terrorists were killed early on Sunday as the Army foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Army spokesman, Colonel Rajesh Kalia said that the operation was continuing and the area was being scanned.
“An infiltration bid was foiled in Keran sector of Kupwara district today,” he said.

AK assault rifles and large quantity of ammunition and other material has been recovered from the encounter spot.
This is the third successive infiltration bid during the past three days. Three terrorists were killed in Kupwara on 7 June when they attacked an Army patrol shortly before the visit of Home Minister Rajnath Singh there. At least 20 terrorists have been killed during the past fortnight in the area while trying to infiltrate from Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Reports indicate that more than 300 trained terrorists were waiting at various launching pads along the LoC and International Border for infiltrating into India.
