Chief of Army Staff, General Bipin Rawat, on Sunday visited various army forward locations of Samba and Ratnuchak in Jammu region to review the operational deployment and preparedness. The Army Chief was briefed about the situation and preparedness by Lt Gen JS Nain, General Officer Commanding Rising Star Corps.

The Army Chief also interacted with the troops in the forward locations. He expressed complete confidence in the Indian Army’s capabilities to thwart any nefarious design of the enemies of the country and handle any situation. He also praised the high state of morale and preparedness of the troops.

General Bipin Rawat, on Saturday, asked the soldiers to be prepared for effectively meeting current emerging security challenges on the Line of Control (LOC) where Pakistan was shelling mortars at civilian areas and Army positions.

He exhorted all the soldiers to remain vigilant to counter the threats from the enemy.

General Rawat arrived here on Saturday morning to review the security situation on the LOC where Pakistan troops have been targeting civilian areas and positions of the Indian Army. He appreciated the preparedness and the high morale of the White Knight Corps that takes care of the LOC.

Accompanied by Lt Gen Ranbir Singh, Army Commander, Northern Command, General Rawat visited the Nagoya based White Knight Corps to review the operational preparedness of the forces in the Corps Zone in view of the current situation along LoC and International Border.

During the visit to the Corps Headquarters, the Army Chief was briefed and updated by Lt General Paramjit Singh, GOC, White Knight Corps, about the current operational situation, prevailing security scenario and the preparedness of the formation.

He was also briefed on the actions taken to meet the challenges of increased ceasefire violations and measures put in place to thwart any hostile act from Pakistan.
