According to police, Nawab Singh Yadav, former block chief and representative of Dimple Yadav, has been arrested on the charge of attempt to rape on late Sunday night.

Sources said the SP leader attempted to rape a minor girl who had come with her aunt to seek a job in a degree college. The police arrested him on the spot on a complaint of the victim and sent him to jail.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Amit Kumar Anand said the 15-year-old girl had come to the SP leader’s college with her aunt to seek a job where the accused tried to rape her. On receiving the information, the police arrived on the spot and arrested him.
However, the accused leader denied the charge calling it a conspiracy hatched against him. The victim’s mother and aunt, who were earlier in the Samajwadi Party, have now joined the BJP.
As soon as the information about his arrest spread on Monday morning, a large number of Nawab Singh Yadav’s supporters reached the police station with a demand for his release. CO Sadar Kamlesh Kumar, along with the police force, chased away the crowd from the police station. After this the accused SP leader was sent to jail.
