‘Aaya Ram-Gaya Ram’: Congress reacts to Nitish Kumar’s resignation
Congress chief Kharge said that he already knew that Nitish Kumar was planning to go.
Nitish Kumar also announced that he has left the Opposition’s INDIA alliance as things were going wrong.
After days of speculations, JD(U) national president Nitish Kumar on Sunday resigned from the post of Bihar chief minister and asked the Governor to dissolve the ‘Mahagathbandhan’ government. Speaking to reporters about his decision,
“I have resigned as Chief Minister and ended this government. I was getting suggestions from all around. I had quit an earlier alliance for a new tie-up. But the situation was not okay. So I have resigned,” he told reporters in Patna.

When asked if he will join the BJP-led NDA, Kumar said that the two “parties will meet and a decision will be taken.”

The former Bihar CM said that the new Grand Alliance that we created in August 2022 was not in a good condition.
Nitish Kumar also announced that he has left the Opposition’s INDIA alliance as things were going wrong and people were not happy.
“I have been working hard to make a successful, meaningful (INDIA) alliance, but no one else (in the alliance) has been doing anything… Gathbandhan main bhi gadbad chal rahan hai (something is wrong in the alliance). People are not happy,” Nitish Kumar told reporters.
Earlier today, Kumar handed over his resignation from the post of Bihar CM to Governor Rajendra Arlekar. Kumar informed the Governor about his decision to sever ties with the ‘Mahagathbandhan’.
He will form a new government with the help of the BJP. The saffron party has made an official announcement that the NDA government will be formed in the state with the help of the JD(U).
BJP leader Samrat Chaudhary has been elected as the leader of the legislative party during the meeting of the party MLAs.
“In the legislative party meeting…all MLAs unanimously passed the proposal to form the NDA government in Bihar with BJP, JD(U) and other NDA allies for the welfare of the people in the state. Samrat Chaudhary has been elected as the Leader of the legislative party, Vijay Sinha elected as the Deputy Leader,” said BJP national general secretary Vinod Tawde.
