The development comes a day after the Samajwadi Party and Congress announced their Uttar Pradesh seat-sharing agreement for Lok Sabha elections.
The Samajwadi Party had earlier said that Yadav will participate in the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra only after the seat-sharing pact with the Congress party is finalised.
As per the agreement reached between the two parties, Congress will get to contest 17 seats in Uttar Pradesh, while the Samajwadi Party has kept the remaining 63 seats for itself and other constituents of the opposition’s INDIA alliance.
The Congress party will field it’s candidates from Prayagraj, Maharajganj, Amroha, Jhansi, Bulandshahar, Ghaziabad, Mathura, Sitapur, Barabanki, Deoria, Kanpur Nagar, Fatehpur Sikri, Basgaon, and Saharanpur.
Raebareli and Amethi has also been given to the Congress. The grand old party will also field it’s candidate against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Varanasi.
