According to a source, the Delhi Police realised that Aftab is not properly cooperating with them, as his statements are creating contradictions. So, the Delhi Police applied for a narco- test to remove the possibility of any false statements.
A source from the court said that Aftab agreed to take a narco-analysis test even after he was told by the court the possible consequences of the test. The narco-analysis test is conducted by using sodium pentothal, also known as truth serum. This medication reduces an individual’s self-consciousness, allowing him to speak freely.
A police source said that during the search operation conducted in the forest areas of Chhatarpur, a bone part that appears to be of human thigh was found to have been a cut piece. While analysing, it appears that the cut mark emerged was due to the use of saw-like objects for cutting.
Police feel that the bone part with cut marks is essential evidence in the case and it has been sent for forensic examination.
As stated by a source, accused Aftab has confessed of burning Shraddha’s face after chopping her body parts to hide her identity.
The accused is said to have disclosed removing intestines and internal organs of the dead body as they had started to decompose on the second day of the killing. He did this to avoid foul smell emanating from the house.
After removing the internal parts, he put them in a plastic bag and threw them in garbage dumps.
During the probe, police came to know about two known persons of the accused. One of them is Badri, whom Aftab met during his Himachal trip with Shraddha and the other is Rohan, who was introduced by Badri to Aftab.
Rohan is the one whose flat was rented by Aftab in Chattarpur. Rohan is said to be the caretaker of the house. It has also been revealed that Aftab sold his phone online after killing his partner.
According to a police source, the investigating team is still searching for Shraddha’s skull, mobile phone, murder weapon and their clothes.
According to reports, police found over 10 bones from the forest where Aftab claimed to have disposed of 35 pieces of Shraddha Walkar’s body after killing her.
Some sources have claimed that the police are planning to search the head of the deceased in the forest of Trilokpuri, as the body parts were recovered from the same forest about a couple of months ago, which has not been identified yet.
