Two arrested in Birbhum triple murder case
Within a day of the recovery of bodies of a housewife and her two kids, Birbhum police have arrested two persons today, including the main accused who is her paramour.
An Additional Superintendent of Police, Special Operation Group (SOG), Divya Mittal posted in Ajmer was on Monday arrested during a special raid by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) team for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 2 crore from a client in a case of NDPS Act.
The Additional SP allegedly demanded the bribe for not arresting the accused in the drug hauling case registered under the NDPS Act. One Sumit Kumar, a former cop, who was assisting Divya for the Rs. 2 crore bribe, was also nabbed during the raid.
ACB sleuths acted on a complaint received from her client, who allegedly agreed to pay Rs 1.5 crore to Mittal. A case under the Anti-Corruption Act has been registered against the two accused.
