AAP leader and former minister Harsh Dev Singh on Saturday criticized the administration for evicting opposition leaders from government houses in the Union Territory (UT) and allowing leaders of the BJP and its allies to occupy ministerial bungalows.
Singh said that several former ministers and legislators of BJP and its supporting parties were continuing to “illegally” occupy government bungalows but those of opposition parties were being made to vacate the official houses after the dissolution of the assembly.
Not only that, the political allies of the BJP from Kashmir have been provided with government bungalows in Jammu to establish their political offices, he said.
Singh said that a reply received by him in response to an RTI query revealed that several BJP activists have been allotted bungalows which continue to be retained by them in “violation of all norms and stipulated procedures.”
Singh alleged that security vehicles and PSOs were also being allotted purely on political considerations, claiming that all former MLAs and former ministers of BJP and its allies were provided with security vehicles and huge paraphernalia of security personnel while denying bare minimum security to opposition leaders.
He said the agencies have withdrawn the security cover of majority of opposition leaders and allotted the same to even the small time lower rung workers of BJP. Singh sought the CBI probe into the undue favours being showered on a particular class of politicians by the government.
