2 former JJP leaders, ex-jail superintendent join BJP ahead of Haryana polls
Former Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) leaders--Devender Singh Babli and Sanjay Kablana -- and former jail superintendent Sunil Sangwan joined the saffron party.
Earlier today, the BJP ended it’s alliance with the JJP and replaced Khattar with Nayab Singh Saini as new Haryana CM.
In another setback to former Haryana deputy chief minister Dushyant Chautala, at least five JJP MLAs have reportedly skipped the party meeting in New Delhi. Chautala had called a meeting of MLAs at his Delhi farmhouse after the BJP broke its alliance with his party.
Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar also tendered his resignation.

According to sources, the MLAs who didn’t reach Delhi for the meeting are Jogi Ram Sihag, Ram Kumar Gautam, Ishwar Singh, Ramniwas and Devinder Babli.

This has led to speculations that they are allegedly in touch with the BJP and likely to crossover.
The BJP has named its Haryana unit president Nayab Singh Saini as Khattar’s replacement as New Haryana CM. Saini will take oath at around 5 PM along with a fresh council of ministers.
Nayab Saini, who is also an MP from Kurukshetra, met Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatraya and staked claim to form the government in the state.
Earlier today, Khattar and his Cabinet tendered resignation after BJP ended its alliance with Dushyant Chautala’s JJP.
While there is no official word from either side on why the alliance broke, it is being said that things went wrong after seat-sharing talks between the BJP and Dushyant Chautala for Lok Sabha elections failed.
In last ditch efforts to save the alliance, Chautala on Monday met BJP national president JP Nadda. However, the meeting remained inconclusive, resulting in the split.
In the 90-member Haryana Legislative Assembly, the BJP has 41 MLAs. However, with support from atleast five independents and Gopal Kanda, it’s numbers will reach 47, enough to form a new government.
