Two held as cops unearth drug cartel in city
Two people including a Nigerian national were arrested for distributing restricted drugs across the nation with the seizure of naro-substance worth Rs 4 crore.

According to the police, three pistols and two live rounds were recovered from the accused.
The police received a call on Thursday night complaining about a shootout at a chicken shop in the Bakoli area in which the accused opened fire at the owner. Following the lead, police teams, including the anti-gangster cell members, started a combing operation in the areas near Alipur and finally reached Bhaktawarpur where they noticed their movements in the farms.

On locating the accused, the police party warned them to surrender. However, the criminals opened fire at the police team. The police team returned the fire, in which, one of them, identified as Rohit alias Laddu, received a gunshot injury and was overpowered.
The remaining accused, who fled the spot, were tracked down by the police team near a toll plaza after a hot chase but not before another accused, identified as Mohit, fired at the police party and was overpowered.
The third accused, Siddharth, was also apprehended from the farms near the Janti toll, the police added after an area of approximately five-kilometer radius in the dark was combed by the police during the night.
The fourth accused, named Kunal alias Senti, a native of Haryana, is on the run and efforts are underway to nab him, the police added.
On Thursday night, a PCR call was received from woman at the Alipur police station who alleged that her husband Vikas was fired at by four people. They were carrying weapons, and the complainant tried to flee from the scene, but they began firing at him and inflicted gunshot injury on the complainant.
Vikas is a chicken shop owner and had recently opened a shop in Bakoli.
All accused have previously been involved in criminal activities, the police said, while further probe is underway in the case, the police added.
