Second HMPV case in Assam: 75-year-old woman diagnosed in Guwahati
A 75-year-old woman has been diagnosed with a human metapneumovirus (HMPV) infection, making it the second reported case in Assam this season.

The incident took place on Tuesday night after the accused Puja ( 35) had a fight with her sister-in-law Parvati, mother of the children Lucky ( 5) and Abhi(3).

Police here on Wednesday said the accused was apparently mentally challenged for the past 10 years. She hit both the children on the head with a plank, injuring them critically. Later, the children died in hospital. Father of the children had gone to Mumbai to work as a labourer.

The accused has been taken into custody.
