Jhansi hospital fire: NHRC seeks detailed report on negligence
NHRC has issued notices to the Chief Secretary and DGP, requesting a report on the negligence within a week.
The special court, however, granted bail to the Minister and now he can move the higher court.
A special MP-MLA court in UP on Wednesday sentenced State Industry Development Minister, Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, to one year imprisonment convicting him in a 9 year old case in Prayagraj.
The special court judge, Dr. Dinesh Chandra Shukla, passed the order under the Sections 147 and 323 of the IPC, as he took up the complaint registered against him at the Mutthiganj police station.
Besides, the court has imposed on the Minister a fine of Rs 10,000. However, the Minister has been granted bail and now he can file an appeal in the higher court.

The FIR was registered at Mutthiganj police station in the city against him alleging a murder attempt during 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, then a Congress party Lok Sabha candidate, allegedly attacked Samajwadi Party workers in a public meeting addressed by Revati Raman Singh, SP candidate from Allahabad Lok Sabha seat.
