PM Modi extends greetings on Uttar Pradesh’s 76th foundation day
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday extended greetings to Uttar Pradesh people on the occasion of the state's 76th foundation day.
The incident occurred early Tuesday morning when the passengers were trying to board the Agra Intercity stationed on Platform No. 1 of Kosi Kalan station.
At least one person died and four sustained critical injuries on Tuesday when they were hit by the speeding Chhattisgarh Sampark Kranti express train at a railway station near Mathura in Uttar Pradesh, officials said.
The incident occurred early Tuesday morning when the passengers were trying to board the Agra Intercity stationed on Platform No. 1 of Kosi Kalan station.

“Six passengers tried to board the train from the off-side, when they were hit,” said Railway Ministry Media Director Rajesh Dutt Bajpai.

“The Agra Intercity Express was at platform number one of the Kosi Kalan Station in the Agra Railway Division. Six persons tried to board it from off side (non-platform side). Meanwhile, the Chattisgarh Sampark Kranti was passing through and they were hit by it. One person is suspected dead while four others are injured,” a railway spokesperson said.
Two of the injured persons were sent to Niyati hospital in Mathura, while three were admitted to Lifeline hospital. All the injured were between the age group of 20-25 years.
