Speaking on the occasion, Pradhan congratulated all on the inauguration and launch of these initiatives toward academic excellence and nation-building.
Bilquis Edhi adopted an Indian girl Geeta, who was found sitting alone on the Samjhauta Express by the Pakistan Rangers at the Lahore railway station when she was just seven or eight years old. Geeta was later brought to India from Pakistan back in 2015.
“Pakistan initiated an unprovoked Ceasefire Violation along LoC in Naugam Sector, Kupwara today morning by firing mortars & other weapons. Two soldiers fatal. Four soldiers injured, being evacuated,” said defence spokesman Colonel Rajesh Kalia.
The attacks were the seventh consecutive ceasefire violation by Pakistan along the LoC in Poonch district.
Muraleedharan said it has been impressed upon Pakistan that respective diplomatic missions should be allowed to function normally in keeping with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, 1961, and the bilateral Code of Conduct signed by the two countries in 1992.
“The day Pakistan acknowledged that two Indian nationals, Prashant Vaindan and Bari Lal, are in its custody, we approached the Pakistani authorities and sought consular access to them. We have also asked Pakistan not to harm them and ensure their early repatriation so that they can be reunited with their families,” External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said at a media briefing.
An enraged Jolly got up from his seat and rushed towards the dais, shouting, "Kashmir is not the issue of this summit...this is not right. I want to protest."
Reviewing the situation, the DGP directed the officers to identify the saboteurs and the elements that were trying to disturb the peace.
"Tragically, the reality facing us is that Pakistan is the world's largest producer and exporter of this evil. Pakistan's political approaches are rooted in terrorist violence and its global engagement is defined by mainstreaming of terrorism as an instrument of statecraft," she said.
