Hobby is a regular activity done for enjoyment during leisure time irrespective of seasons. Nonetheless, few interests suit a particular climate. Amidst daily humdrum, a little time out to engage in what one likes is delightful. There is an array of activities from out door to indoor that one could be passionate about.

The only sign of relief from scorching heat outside during summer is water so swimming seems the best option. Not only is it a means of physical fitness but also refreshing and energising.

The development of technology has almost crippled the creative and imaginative faculty of the youth. Innovative activities like painting, sculpting, reading and craft have almost reached a state of oblivion. How we basked in innocence, once upon a time.

The mere act of collecting ice cream sticks and placing them diagonally one on the other for making baskets and other things out of them and spending hours thinking of various ideas for drawing greeting and birthday cards were the best modes of relaxation. However, eventually they seem to have become obsolete these days and seldom fail to add joy to life.

Interests and fashions evolve with changing times and thus one can look out for out of the box methods that are source of fun. Heard about Dream catchers? Summer afternoons can be fun with trying our hands on them. The hope of sound sleep with an escapade into dream world becomes true by making them.

In Native American culture, they are handmade crafts that consist of round hoop woven with a loose web of yarn and decorated with beads and feathers hanging above the hoop. A recreation much rewarding and blissful, it is surely different from the others.

So this summer rather than sitting in the house and being addicted to gadgets, let’s start afresh with interesting ideas and create something unique. It is only an inclination towards using our imagination, which is more satiating than bending towards banal activities which are looked upon as entertaining. Make this summer the perfect one amongst so many.
