HBO’s Chernobyl, a historical drama miniseries created and written by Craig Mazin is by now on everyone’s watchlist.
The TV series received rave reviews from all quarters and has an ensemble cast led by Jared Harris, Stellan Skarsgård and Emily Watson among others.

The show is based on the April 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster and the unprecedented cleanup efforts that followed. The source material for the show was Voices from Chernobyl, a book that contained recollections of Pripyat locals as told by Belarusian Nobel laureate Svetlana Alexievich.

Apart form the plot and acting, the show has also been appreciated for its cinematography done by Jakob Irhe.
Jakob also has a Bollywood connection.
In 2005, when Shoojit Sircar was making his debut directorial with Yahaan , a romantic war drama starring Jimmy Sheirgill and Minissha Lamba( who also made her debut with the film) in the lead, Jakob did the cinematography for that film too.
Yahaan was screened at the 7th Ocean’s Cinefan Film Festival where it was awarded with the Special Jury Prize.
