Mammootty on Hema Committee Report: Urges industry to embrace change and justice

India is known for its rich and diverse mythology across the globe. This has been beautifully shown in cinema as well from across. The much-awaited period film Mamangam which casts the legendary actor Mammootty is set to recreate one such story from the land of beaches, Kerela.
The makers of the upcoming historical drama unveiled the teaser on early Friday. Set in 1695, the teaser showcases warriors, readying for battle. The film tells the story of Kalaripayattu which is one of the oldest forms of martial arts in the world. Mamangam is a festival that took place every 12 years during the 17th century on the banks of Bharatapuzha, Thirunavaya in Malabar area of Kerala.
It shows how the festival of Mamangam was celebrated in the grandest way during that time. It gives a sneak-peek into the life of Unni Mukundan and a young Prachi Tehlan whom we can see fighting against Zamorin rulers in the teaser.

Mammootty who has been winning hearts of Indian audiences’ for years only makes a brief appearance as an unnamed, mysterious character. His entry in the teaser is powerful.
On Friday, Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his official Instagram handle to reveal the teaser of the film. Alongside the teaser, he captioned, “Mammootty… Teaser of the much-awaited period drama #Mamangam [#Hindi]… Directed by M Padmakumar… Produced by Venu Kunnappilly… 21 Nov 2019 release. #MamangamTeaser (sic).”

The film is presented by Kavya Film Company. Helmed by M Padmakumar and produced by Venu Kunnapilly, the film is all set to hit the silver screen this year.
