As a promotional activity, the makers of the upcoming film Hichki have initiated a gimmick. Bollywood’s prominent personalities are asked to speak out about their hidden weaknesses, how they overcame it and turned it into their strength instead. The first one approached was Shah Rukh Khan and the actor talked about the pain he suffered from losing his parents and then how he channelized it into his acting.
Now after SRK, Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif has spoken about her weakness on camera. Katrina revealed that her greatest ‘Hichki’ moment was when a choreographer told Salman Khan that she a ‘Zero’ as a dancer. She further narrates her journey of overcoming the hurdle and emerging into an amazing dancer.
Katrina said, “For me, my biggest ‘Hichki’ at the beginning of my career was dancing. While shooting for a Telugu film with superstar Venkatesh, Raju Sundaram was choreographing me. He looked quite irritated with my dancing but didn’t say anything. Later, while working on Wanted, I overheard him telling Salman Khan on set, that as a dancer, Katrina Kaif is Zero! I was shocked.”
Katrina did not let the perils come in her way and worked her way through the difficulties, “After my first Telugu film, I trained with Kathak Guru, Veeru Krishnan from 7 am to 1 pm almost every day. Choreographers Bosco-Ceaser gave me the confidence to perform to my best in the film Race. I think this is what a good teacher does – gives a person confidence that he/she can do it. That’s how I overcame my challenge of being a ‘zero’ dancer,” she added.
On the work front, Katrina Kaif is engaged in shooting for Zero with Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma. She will also feature in Aamir Khan-starrer Thugs of Hindostan and has shared a few glimpses from the sets on Instagram.
Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan, who recently turned 59, may have buried the hatchets with actor Sunny Deol but there was a time when the two held their guards up during the filming of ‘Darr’.
