Varun Dhawan: Bollywood needs new voices, artists from across India
Bollywood star Varun Dhawan, who is gearing up for his upcoming film ‘Baby John’, has spoken about what needs to change in the Hindi film industry.
Veteran filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, who is the mentor of director Vikram Bhatt, came to his defence when Vikram called himself a B-grade filmmaker of the film industry.
Mahesh believes his protégé is one of the finest filmmakers in the horror genre and his success at the box office proves about his huge popularity in South Asia.

It’s so refreshing to see ones most prolific protege embrace the genre of horror so unashamedly. He is the king of horror in South Asia . His movies have made money because they have entertained the people of this country & the world. To hell with the highbrows who sneer at him.

Earlier, Vikram took to his Facebook and expressed his concerns about the new age cinema. He termed himself to be a B-grade fear seller, saying, “I am a fear seller. In a world where money is made out of selling love, friendship, laughter, hope and even tears, I sell fear. I do this unapologetically and at the cost of being called not aesthetic, crass and B-grade. Hang on, correction; I am a B-grade fear seller,” Vikram wrote on his Facebook page on Saturday.
After reading his statement the veteran filmmaker refuted the statement by saying: “His movies have made money because they have entertained the people of this country & the world. To hell with the highbrows, who sneer at him.”
Well, the eldest of the Bhatt clan surely doesn’t agree with protégé as according to him he is underestimating himself.
Vikram is known for his film credits like: Raaz, Awara Pagal Deewana, 1920, Raaz 3D and Mr X.
On the work front, Vikram is gearing up for his upcoming film, 1921, starring Karan Kundra and Zarine Khan in the lead roles.
