Following the Pulwama terror attack in which 44 CRPF troopers lost their lives, India carried out air strikes on the terror base camps of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Balakot, Pakistan on Tuesday. As many as 12 French Mirage 2000 fighters crossed the Line of Control to enter Pakistan’s air space. The next day, India said an IAF MiG-21 had been shot down in Pakistan and that its pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman had been detained.
With tensions between India and Pakistan escalating, people from both sides are praying for safe release of Varthaman.

However, some people did not refrain from posting insensitive messages on social media on the situation.
One of them was Pakistani actress Veena Malik. In a post she mocked the IAF pilot. Sharing a photograph of the officer, she wrote: “Abhi Abhi Tu Ayo Ho…Achi Mehmaan Nawazi Ho GI Aap Ki.”
Her tweet, on expected lines, did not go down well with the social media users in India, including Bollywood actress Swara Bhaskar.
“Veena ji.. Shame on you & ur sick mindset. Your glee is just gross! Our officer is a hero- brave, gracious & dignified in the face of capture. At least some decency from that major in you army who was questioning #WingCommanderAbhinandan or the many Pakistanis suing 4 peace #sick,” Swara replied to the tweet.
However, the former Bigg Boss contestant did not stop at one tweet. She replied to tweets posted by other Bollywood celebrities too who had expressed their concern for the captured IAF pilot.
Here is a series of the tweets she shared:
