India’s merchandise exports jump by 17.25% in Oct
The trade deficit was widened to USD 27.14 billion. Imports increased by 3.9% to USD 66.34 billion in October compared to USD 63.86 billion in the year-ago period.
Varun Dhawan’s latest film October may have not been at par with his previous release Judwaa 2 but the film is surely expected to pick up in the weekdays because of a strong word of mouth.
The film has become one of the most acclaimed films of 2018 so far and critics are hailing this as Dhawan’s career-best performance till now.
Considering the fact that October is not a typical Bollywood masala film, it is performing way better than many of the other films released in 2018.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh confirmed the film’s opening weekend business on his social media handle. According to the trade pundit, the film showed substantial growth on Sunday by collecting Rs 7.74-crore taking the total collection of the film to Rs 20.25-crore.
October opened to extremely mixed reviews on the first day but showed commendable growth on Saturday and Sunday. The film needs to pick up in the weekdays as the film’s first week collection will determine the film’s lifetime business before the release of Hollywood’s much awaited film Avengers: Infinity War.
Made on a budget of Rs 65-crore, October needs to cross the Rs 75-crore mark at the box office to solidify its position as a hit otherwise it rank among those few films that are considered as masterpieces but no big number at the box office.
Let’s see how October fares from this point on as it is also enjoying a solo release at the box office and there is no major competition for the next five days.
Directed by Shoojit Sircar. October marked the debut of Banita Sandhu and was released worldwide on April 13.
