Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff starrer War has broken all box office records in India.
After becoming the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2019 by collecting Rs. 53 crores, the Siddhart Anand’s directorial continued to do well on a working day. Collecting Rs 20 crore on the second day, a rarity, since most big films make that amount on the opening day of release.
Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the film’s revenue on social media.
He wrote, “#War is super-strong on Day 2 [working day], after the national holiday on Day 1 [#GandhiJayanti]… Collecting ₹ 20 cr+ on a working day – which happens to be Day 2 in this case – is a rarity… An achievement, since most biggies don’t score ₹ 20 cr on Day 1.”
On Thursday, the Hindi box office earned Rs 23.10 crores while the Tamil and Telugu business was about Rs 1.25 crores. The total tally of its two days business stands at Rs 77.70 crores.
On Friday, the film release was added to 150-200 screens.
Yash Raj Films’ production has also taken the overseas market by a storm. War‘s Australian release was the highest. The film surpassed the business of this year’s Hindi film releases and collected A$ 130,682.
War also features Ashutosh Rana and Vaani Kapoor, and released on 2 October, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti across the world.
