One of the biggest films of the year, Thugs of Hindostan has enrolled itself as the highest opener in the history of Indian films. The Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan starrer action adventure film did not manage to impress the critics but got support from the audience on the opening day.
After achieving a massive single-day sales and minting Rs 52 crore at the Box Office, the film has now seen a huge decline in the collection. On the second day, the Box Office collection of Thugs of Hindostan slipped to Rs 29.25 crore.
Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh, who believes the “decline” of the film has begun, said the “Mass belt / single screens are holding better, but the cracks are already showing at plexes.”
“And the DECLINE begins… #ThugsOfHindostan slips on Day 2, facing a fall during #Diwali holidays… Mass belt / single screens are holding better, but the cracks are already showing at plexes… Day 3 [Sat] and Day 4 [Sun] are extremely crucial… #TOH,” he tweeted.

In a subsequent tweet, he revealed the total collection of the film. “#ThugsOfHindostan HINDI: Thu 50.75 cr, Fri 28.25 cr. Total: ₹ 79 cr TAMIL + TELUGU: Thu 1.50 cr, Fri 1 cr. Total: ₹ 2.50 cr Total: ₹ 81.50 cr [5000 screens] India biz. #TOH,” it read.
Thugs of Hindostan, also starring Katrina Kaif, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Ronit Roy, released on 8 November.
