Shah Rukh Khan ringed in his 52rd birthday at Alibaug in style with all his leading ladies in presence. The actor, who was seen as a common man in his movie Fan, has been reminded of his roots several times, especially when he had been detained at several airports in the US.
The actor doesn’t seem to share a good vibe with the airport officials in the US, who have time and again troubled him for some or the other reason. Latest being, Shah Rukh Khan’s outing in Los Angeles when he was put through tests by the immigration department. However, he did not lose his cool and went through the entire procedure with calm.
This incident happened in August 2016 and SRK himself broke the news on Twitter.

After being pulled out by the officials at the airport, Khan tweeted, “I fully understand and respect security with the way the world is, but to be detained at US immigration every damn time really really sucks.”
His stay at the airport, however, proved entertaining for him as he managed to find some Pokemons. He had tweeted, “The brighter side is while waiting caught some really nice Pokémons.”
The US envoy to India was quick to apologise to him.
The My Name is Khan actor was earlier caught in a similar controversy, when he was detained at the New York airport for reasons unknown, by the US officials.
In 2012, Shah Rukh Khan boarded a flight to New York to deliver a speech at Yale University. Little did he know then, that he would be held at the airport for two long hours. Nita Ambani had accompanied the actor in a private plane.
The actor, who was supposed to deliver his speech at 2 pm, started at 6 pm and mocked the incident in front of the students. He said, “Whenever I start feeling too arrogant about myself, I always take a trip to America. The immigration guys kicked the star out of stardom.”
Officials from the varsity called up the Department of US Immigration and Customs in Washington and told them how upset Khan was over the incident.
Another incident happened in 2009, when Khan was detained at Newark Airport in New Jersey for two good hours. This had a lot to do with his last name “Khan”. His name flashed on the screen and an immigration officer stopped him from going further. His entire hand baggage was checked and despite several attempts by the actor trying to explain the purpose behind his visit, the officer was not convinced.
The actor was even kept from using a phone for one hour. However, he was let out after a couple of hours and his team waited for him all that time at the airport.
