Actor Hina Khan, who was last seen in the controversial reality TV show Bigg Boss 11, is reportedly being eyed to essay the role of Kamolika in Ekta Kapoor’s rebooted version of Kasautii Zindagii Kay.

Hina’s last stint on the small screen, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, as the lead actor fetched her numerous awards and now the latest buzz is that the actor will be playing the role of a vamp in Ekta Kapoor’s upcoming show.

Ekta, head of Balaji Telefilms, confirmed the remake of the show on her Twitter account and wrote: “With a piece of my broken heart I wrote in 2001,17 years later I Reboot it dipping in personal pain & lacing it with experiences of an older me! Bringing back my most successful love saga that ran for 9 yrs! Again I’ll take my broken heart & make it into art! #NamesToBeAnnounced”

Going by the rumours, Hina Khan has been approached to play the role of Kamolika, which was originally played Urvashi Dholakia (another Bigg Boss contestant and winner). However, the makers of the show have not yet given their official word on who will be playing the role of the antagonist in the show.

On July 13, Kapoor tweeted a couple of random tweets about the character and surprisingly also mentioned what she is looking for in an actor to play the role of Kamolika in the remake.

While rumours strongly suggest that Hina will be part of the show, the only actor to bag a role in the remake is Erica Fernandez who will be essaying the lead role of Prerna which was earlier played by actor Shweta Tiwari.

Actors like Angad Bedi, Mohit Raina and Shaheer Sheikh are also being considered for pivotal characters in the show. Let’s see who goes home happy when the official word regarding the show’s cast is announced.

Kasautii Zindagii Kay was one of the longest running shows in the history of Indian television and became a primetime show on Starplus owing to its wide viewership.
