The Kannada film, Kolar Gold Field (KGF), which released on 21 December, has fallen prey to piracy. A website named Tamilrockers, which has a history of hosting pirated copies of the latest films has made KGF its recent target.

Previously, Rajnikath’s much-anticipated film, 2.0, was leaked online by the website after a few hours of its release.

Before the release of the film, the Madras High Court had ordered to shut 12000 websites, including 2000 sites of Tamilrockers. Even after the site getting banned, pirates have managed to access the content.

Other than KGF, Bollywood’s solo release this week, Zero, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif, was also leaked by the website. The piracy might impact the earnings of the Anand L Rai directorial at the Box Office.

KGF traces the history of gold mining and the mafia running it in the generous fields of Karnataka’s Kolar region.

Produced by Homabale Films and Vijay Kiragandur, the Prashanth Neel directorial stars Yash, Srinidhi Shetty, Ramya Krishna, Ananth Nag, John Kokken, Achyuth Rao in pivotal roles.
