Sudarsan Pattnaik crafted a sand sculpture with the message ‘Happy Republic Day Mera Bharat Mahan hai’ at Puri beach in Odisha to commemorate the 75th Republic Day. The impressive 6ft high sculpture featured 103 capsicums, 100 roses, 100 oranges, and 230 lemons, created in collaboration with students from his Sand Art Institute.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently took a selfie with another of Pattnaik’s sand sculptures depicting Lord Ram and the Ram temple at Ram Katha Park in Ayodhya. This sand art also included representations of PM Modi, CM Yogi, and Lord Ram.

Renowned for his unique talent, Padma-awarded artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has captivated audiences on numerous occasions with magnificent sand sculptures featuring various Hindu gods and goddesses. His global presence includes participation in over 65 international sand art competitions, where he has won numerous prizes for the country. Pattnaik consistently utilizes his art to raise awareness on issues such as HIV/AIDS, environmental conservation, plastic pollution, global warming, and terrorism.
In the Republic Day 2024 celebrations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated the event by paying floral tributes at the National War Memorial to honor the brave Indian armed forces. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh received the Prime Minister, and the guards, commanded by Indian Army Officer Major Indrajeet Sachin, executed ‘Salami Shastra’ and ‘Shok Shastra.’ A two-minute silence was observed to pay homage to the sacrifices of armed personnel, followed by buglers playing ‘Rouse’ and the guards presenting ‘Salami Shastra’ again. PM Modi recorded his remarks in the digital Visitor’s Book of the National War Memorial, joined by the three service chiefs.
President Droupadi Murmu led the nation in the grand celebrations of the Amrit Kaal journey, marking the culmination of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations for 75 years of independence. Themed ‘Viksit Bharat’ and ‘Bharat – Loktantra ki Matruka,’ this year’s parade featured approximately 13,000 special guests, emphasizing inclusivity and encouraging public participation in the national festival.
