R Madhavan to bring GD Naidu, ‘Edison of India,’ to life in epic Coimbatore biopic!

Fans of Suriya have reason to celebrate as the release date for his much-anticipated film ‘Retro’ has finally been announced.
Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, the action-packed love story will hit theaters on May 1, 2025. This marks the first collaboration between the celebrated actor and the filmmaker, and the excitement surrounding the project is palpable.

The film features an ensemble cast, with Suriya in the lead role, joined by Pooja Hegde, Jayaram, Joju George, Karunakaran, Nassar, Prakash Raj, and others. Notably, Shriya Saran will make a special cameo appearance, adding to the film’s allure.

The recently released title teaser gave fans a glimpse into the movie’s tone, blending tender romance with high-octane action sequences.

Produced by Stone Bench Films and Suriya’s 2D Entertainment, ‘Retro’ is going to feature music by Santhosh Narayanan, a frequent collaborator of Karthik Subbaraj.
The film’s cinematography credit goes to Shreyaas Krishna, while the editing came under Mohammed Shafique Ali. Art direction is by Jacki and Mayapandi.
