The Golden Reel Awards, presented by the Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE), are one of the most esteemed honors in the world of sound editing. Aadujeevitham is now competing alongside international films like Emilia Perez, The Girl with the Needle, and Kneecap for the coveted award.
Aadujeevitham, which stars actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, is based on the novel by Benyamin. The story follows Najeeb, a migrant worker from Kerala who moves to Saudi Arabia for work, only to find himself trapped in a life of hardship and forced labor as a shepherd in the desert.
The film poignantly depicts his struggle and eventual escape, offering a powerful narrative of resilience and survival.
With a soundtrack by A.R. Rahman and cinematography by K.U. Mohanan, the film has received acclaim for its technical excellence. The sound design, in particular, stood out, earning Pookutty and Sarath Mohan the Best Sound Mixing award at the 54th Kerala State Film Awards.
The film also swept several other awards, including Best Director for Blessy and Best Actor for Prithviraj Sukumaran.
