Sini Shetty, the newly crowned Femina Miss India 2022, is gearing up for her role as India’s representative at the Miss World competition. Expressing her excitement and acknowledging the weight of her responsibility, Shetty remarked, “It’s a monumental responsibility.”
In an interview with ANI, Shetty shared her deep sense of honor in representing India on such a prestigious platform. She emphasized that her role extends beyond herself, touching the lives and sentiments of 1.4 billion people. “I’m not just representing myself; I’m representing 1.4 billion people, and that’s an immense responsibility because it encompasses showcasing Indian culture, our diverse traditions, and the sentiments of each individual in this nation,” she said passionately.
Shetty, who holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance, described her journey to the Miss World stage as unexpected yet purposeful. “I consider myself an accidental tourist…I believe everything unfolds for a purpose. Providence has been kind. Despite my background in accountancy, I found myself in marketing, and now, here I am, competing for Miss World,” she reflected.

The Miss World pageant is returning to India after a hiatus of 28 years, with the grand event that will take place in Mumbai on March 9th. Shetty’s victory at the Femina Miss India 2022 pageant, where she also clinched the Times Miss Body Beautiful and NIFD Miss Talent sub-title awards, catapulted her into the spotlight.
As she prepares to represent her nation on the global stage, Shetty remains mindful of the enduring relevance of the Miss World pageant. “Miss World pageant hasn’t lost its relevance yet. A group of women coming together and standing up for issues they believe in. That is why we say beauty with a purpose,” she remarked, highlighting the platform’s focus on social causes and empowerment.
