Shakira isn’t the only international star embracing Indian couture. At the 2025 Golden Globes, Catherine O’Hara, the celebrated Canadian-American actress and comedian, walked the red carpet in a couture gown by Rahul Mishra.
Similarly, Mindy Kaling, who previously impressed in a Gaurav Gupta ensemble at the Met Gala, dazzled in a champagne-colored architectural gown by Ashi Studio.
Indian fashion’s global influence isn’t just in red carpets. Designer-turned-producer Manish Malhotra made a grand entrance at the Golden Globes, donning a custom black tuxedo with a white shawl lapel and abstract detailing.
Even reality TV icon Kim Kardashian embraced Indian couture during her visit to India for Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding celebrations. She donned creations by leading designers like Gaurav Gupta, Manish Malhotra, and Tarun Tahiliani.
Anamika Khanna’s creations have long been favorites of celebrities. The designer made waves when she crafted a 10 kg velvet lehenga, adorned with pearls and gold-silver embellishments, gifted by Simi Garewal to Lady Gaga. Bollywood and global stars, including Sonam Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, and Katrina Kaif, have frequently sported her designs at high-profile events.
Even Oprah Winfrey has chosen Anamika’s outfits for major occasions, from the ‘Women in the World’ Summit to exclusive receptions.
