‘Udta Punjab’ turns 9: Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt revisit their gritty journey
The film dove headfirst into the gritty, often uncomfortable realities of substance abuse among the youth in Punjab. However, 'Udta Punjab' wasn’t without controversy.
Kabir Singh actor, Shahid Kapoor is gearing up for his upcoming Hindi remake of Telugu film Jersey. The actor has started his training to hone his cricketing skills for the role of a cricketer in the film.
Talking about the film, Shahid said: “It took me some time to decide what to do next after Kabir Singh. But the minute I saw ‘Jersey’, I knew I wanted it to be my next. It is a wonderful, inspiring and personal human journey that I connected with deeply,” reported IANS.

On Friday, Shahid Kapoor took to his official Instagram handle to share a picture of him from the film. He was seen wearing a cricketer’s white jersey and holding a bat in his hand. Alongside the picture, he wrote, “#jersey the prep begins (sic).” He is learning the minute details of playing a cricketer on-screen by regularly going for the cricket sessions.

Also, the film’s shoot will start in Chandigarh this month.
Meanwhile, film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his official Twitter handle to share the picture from Shahid’s training sessions. Alongside the picture, he wrote “Shahid Kapoor begins prep for the role of a cricketer in the #Hindi remake of #Telugu film #Jersey… The #Hindi version will be directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, who also helmed the original #Telugu version, starring Nani… 28 Aug 2020 release (sic).”

Jersey will be directed by Gowtam Tinnanauri who helmed the original as well. Produced by Allu Aravind, Aman Gill, Dil Raju, the film is scheduled to release on August 28, 2020
