Shah Rukh Khan watched recent the Arsenal vs Newcastle match in London at the invitation of German footballer Mesut Özil. Considered one of the best football players in the world, Özil plays for the Premier League club Arsenal.

The global sports star, who is a self-confessed Shah Rukh Khan admirer, sent out a special invitation to the actor for the match played at the Emirates stadium in London on Sunday night.

Shah Rukh Khan, who is an avid sports fan and also the owner of the IPL team KKR, accepted the invitation and attended the match. The German player even invited the actor to his hospitality box.

Shah Rukh Khan is one of the most followed celebrities across the world with a global fan base of almost 38 million. In fact, the actor’s films release in many languages, one of them being German.

In the past as well, many renowned personalities the world over have shown their admiration for SRK.

Coldplay singer Chris Martin recently gave a special shout out to Shah Rukh Khan from his Twitter handle: “Shah Rukh Khan forever”.

Oscar Winner Leonardo Di Caprio has also admitted to being a Shah Rukh Khan fan saying, “Starring in a movie with him will make me more popular than I am now!”.

International singer Zayn Malik had earlier, made headlines for making his girlfriend Gigi Hadid watch Shah Rukh Khan’s Devdas.

Actor Hugh Jackman too had said, “I like SRK’s dancing. Even now(in this age) he can dance well. I admire his incredible energy!”

Titanic and Avatar director James Cameron is also a fan of the actor’s film, My Name is Khan. Daniel Radcliffe, Penelope Cruz, Kristen Stewart, Pitbull, Akon and DJ Diplo, Tom Cruise and even Barrack Obama are acknowledged fans of the actor who is a global icon.
