Smith’s previous album was In The Lonely Hour, which made a debut with #2 on the July 5, 2014-dated chart.
The English singer tweeted: “Completely and utterly overwhelmed. The ‘Thrill Of It All’ is officially number one in America. Truly a dream come true. Thank you all from the deepest part of my heart.”
