Seems like Salman Khan’s Tiger Zinda Hai will not see a release in Mumbai as MNS chief Raj Thackrey has threatened cinema owners of consequences  if they gave preference to Salman’s film over Marathi film, Deva, in the prime slots on December 22.

According to reports, Thackrey wants the cinema owners to screen Marathi films as he believes that regional films should not suffer because of big budget films.

“It’s not a threat. We want Marathi films to be screened at prime time as they don’t get enough time slots. Why should regional films bear the loss? There’s nothing wrong in promoting Marathi culture. Cineplex owners have to abide by our demand, you can take it as a threat,” a MNS spokesperson said in a statement.

After the controversies surrounding Padmavati, the film industry has to face the wrath of political organisations for a second time in just one month and Tiger’s fate is yet to witness in Mumbai.

Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. Tiger Zinda Hai will release worldwide on December 22.
