Actress-turned-director Kangana Ranaut has been accused by Krish (Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi) for taking away the credit of Manikarnika. The filmmaker called out the actress for claiming that she has shot 70 percent of the film.

Yet Ankita Lokhande, who plays Jhalkaribai in the film, firmly said that her role was not cut in the film. She has made it clear that she stands by Kangana in the entire situation.

The Pavitra Rishta fame actress opened up about the row and said, “I don’t really think I need to react on it. I am in a happy phase and that’s how I am. We all have done hard work towards this film. Sometimes it is okay that results don’t come out the way you expect them to, and I am not saying this just because I am getting praises. But even if it would have happened to me, I would have been positive. This is my debut film. I understand as an actor… I don’t know, they may be going through something or they must be feeling something. I have always been positive about things.”
“I have loved ‘Manikarnika’ and I have loved Kangana for what she is. Most of my scenes have been shot by her, and that’s for sure. I respect her for that. I think I am becoming Jhalkaribai, and I am really guarding my Rani Laxmibai, because she is Rani Laxmibai. She has proved herself. I am playing my character here also in my real life. I am actually protecting Rani Laxmibai,” she added.
Earlier, Mishti Chakraborty, who played the role of Kashi Bai in Manikarnika, said that she wasn’t happy with the outcome of the film.
Meanwhile, Manikarnika has crossed the Rs 50-crore mark at the box office and minted Rs 69.90 crore.
Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi is a film that captures the life story of Rani Laxmibai. Directed by Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi and Kangana Ranaut, the film also stars Danny Denzongpa, Zeeshan Ayyub, Ankita Lokhande, Atul Kulkarni, Suresh Oberoi, and Jisshu Sengupta in pivotal roles.
