Arjun Kapoor reveals that Alia Bhatt faced backlash for her casting as a Tamilian girl in the 2014 hit '2 States.'
After the release of Alia Bhatt-starrer Raazi, people are curious to get a glimpse of real Sehmat Khan. Reports suggest that could be possible soon but National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah opposes the idea. Abdullah has penned down a letter to Calling Sehmat author Harinder Sikka and expressed his opinion on the revelation of Sehmat’s identity.

The former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister’s office has confirmed the news that Farooq Abdullah wrote to Harinder Sikka, a former Indian Navy officer. A decade ago, the author agreed to keep Sehmat’s identity a secret and he wants it to keep it that way. Abdullah wrote, “Dear Harindar, When you first brought your book ‘Calling Sehmat’ to me a decade ago, I was delighted and wrote a foreword on it. At my request to agreed to guard the identities, which was commendable. Please keep it that way.”

“There are millions who work and pray for one Hindustan. Kashmiris are wonderful, simple and peace-loving people. And those who visit the Valley will vouch for their integrity. I wish you success,” he concluded.
When Harinder Sikka discovered the story of valour and sacrifice by a young Kashmiri girl for her country, he decided to pen it down. He published his book and introduced the country to the brave Sehmat Khan. Now, Meghna Gulzar has given a face to the character — that of Alia Bhatt — through her film on Sehmat. However, the amazing story has now intrigued all to know more about the real Sehmat.

Raazi narrates the story Sehmat Khan, who is trained to become a spy and then married off to a Pakistan Army officer. Sehmat is on a mission to gather information for the Indian intelligence during the 1971 India-Pakistan war. The film is inspired from Harinder Sikka’s novel Calling Sehmat. Alia Bhatt’s portrayal of feminine yet strong Sehmat Khan drew praise from all quarters.
