The phenomenal actors Prosenjit and Rituparna ruled over million hearts in the 90s with their star power and cinematic chemistry that defined a new era in Bengali cinema. Rituparna made her debut with him in the 1994 film Nagpanchami and after that there was no looking back. The pair delivered one after another hits with Jamaibabu Zindabad, Matir Manush, Baba keno chakor, Praner Cheye Priyo, Utsab and Sasurbari Zindabad.

Though they preferred to keep their personal lives away from limelight, the duo often created headlines and rumours were high that they allegedly dated each other. However, after delivering multiple hit films together, Prosenjit and Rituparna parted ways after the 2002 film Streer Maryada due to some unknown reason.

After 15 years, in 2016 the iconic pair made a comeback with Shiboprasad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy’s film Praktan. The film garnered huge love and appreciation from audiences with housefull shows and overwhelming footfalls at theatres. Then they starred in Kaushik Ganguly’s Drishtikone.
Earlier this year, they left everyone in shock with the announcement of Prosenjit weds Rituparna. But later it was revealed that they are coming together in Samrat Sharma’s film ‘Prosenjit weds Rituparna’ where lies a surprise.
The crux of the story follows a girl named Rituparna to be played by Ipsita mukherjee, who’s a die-hard fan of actor Prosenjit Chatterjee and wants to marry him. However he ends up marrying a boy named Prosenjit, the character played by Rishav Basu. How thinks turn out after the goofy wedding is what audience are waiting to find out.
The makers revealed the trailer of the film on Wednesday and Bumba da (Prasenjit Chatterjee) shared, “It’s a very new concept and I don’t want to disclose how I and Riturparna are going to surprise you in the film. But you can get an idea from the trailer. I can surely say it’s going be an entertainment package.” The trailer has already raised anticipation and creating talks among netizens who can’t wait more to experience the biggest wedding of the season ‘Prasenjit weds Rituparna.’
Presented by Prosenjit Chatterjee, Rituparna Sengupta and Siddharth Kumar Tewary, produced by Neidea Creations Private Limited and Swastik Productions, the film is hitting the theatres on November 25.
